    Wondering what constellation is known for the three stars across its middle? Not sure what another nickname for the Windy City is? Don’t worry, because I’m here to help you with extra hints and the answers for today’s NYT Mini crossword.

    The NYT Mini is a quick version of the newspaper’s larger, long-running crossword. Most days, there are between three and five clues in each direction on a five by five Mini grid, but the puzzles are sometimes larger, especially on Saturdays.

    Unfortunately, the New York Times has now made the Mini available only to subscribers. It was previously free to play. You’ll also need an NYT Games subscription to access previous puzzles in the archives.

    It took me 1:11 to complete today’s NYT Mini.

    I didn’t love this one, and not only because I messed up and got a poor time. NAW seemed a bit too nebulous for me. In any case, I got my American city nicknames mixed up and initially thought CHI TOWN was “Big Easy.” Oops. That slowed me down when I got to the Down words. Thinking SLEW was actually “lots” didn’t help either. I got there in the end, though.
