Amazon October Prime Day starts on October 7th, but a ton of retailers are already marking down tons of items before the Prime Big Deal Days begin. Online retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and Costco are already offering huge discounts on loads of tech you won’t want to miss out on, including the Beats Studio Pro wireless noise-cancelling headphones.

Even though it’s absolutely Halloween season, the holidays are just around the corner, which means there are several reasons why investing in noice cancelling headphones might be a good idea. Whether you’re looking for headphones for increased focus and productivity, tuning out a hectic environment, or looking for the perfect gift for a bookish student, the Beats Studio Pro noise-cancelling headphones will definitely fit the bill.

Best Buy is now offering the Beats Studio Pro ANC headphones for a whopping 51% off, bringing the price down from $350 to $170. They’re wireless and connect via Bluetooth 5.3 at a maximum wireless range of 100 feet, and offer up to 40 hours of battery life on a single charge (though its charging case also provides 16 additional hours). The headphones come with a USB-C cord for charging, and are compatible with iOS and Android (and Siri and Google Assistant, respectively).

ZDNET writer Prakhar Khanna went hands-on with the Beats Studio Pro headphones, and noted the easy-to-use physical controls for play/pause, volume controls, voice assistant activation, power, pairing, and ANC–without sacrificing the fashion-forward design–in his review. He wrote that the headphones are rare in that they “feature foldable earcups” which, while they won’t fold to be completely flat, are “more portable to carry than rivals from Sony and Sennheiser.”

The headphones have 40mm drivers with dual-layer design, allowing for deep bass and striking highs, though Khanna did note a “lack of depth in instrument separation.” However, he also wrote that you can “switch to USB-C mode for better audio quality, thanks to support for 24-bit/48-kHz resolution on Apple Music and Tidal.” While in USB-C mode, the headphones also feature three EQ presets; Beats Signature Sound, Entertainment, and Conversation. A standout feature are the six microphones used for voice calling and ANC, though the lack of on-ear detection sensors means that music won’t pause automatically when you take the headphones off. Still, at over 50% off, the Beats Studio Pro headphones are an excellent deal.

    How I rated this deal

Will these headphones compete with ANC versions from Bose or Sony? Probably not! But still, at just $170 for iconic Beats with decent sound quality and top-notch design, this deal is pretty great.

We don’t know when this deal will expire, but due to the massive markdown, we’re guessing that the headphones won’t stay stocked for long. Deals are subject to sell out or expire anytime, though ZDNET remains committed to finding, sharing, and updating the best product deals for you to score the best savings. Our team of experts regularly checks in on the deals we share to ensure they are still live and obtainable.
