The latest Wi-Fi 7 product from EnGenius is the ECW520, an affordable Wi-Fi 7 access point aimed at small and medium enterprises.

    ENGENIUS

EnGenius Technologies Inc. has announced its new ECW520, the latest product to join the company’s Wi-Fi 7 wireless networking portfolio. Wi-Fi 7 is the latest and fastest Wi-Fi standard and is already appearing in lots of smartphones and laptops. It offers plenty of benefits to boost wireless networking efficiency.

The new access point is a tri-band device that uses the 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz bands for maximum speed and compatibility. Designed to deliver enterprise-grade performance at a cost-effective price, the new ECW520 wireless access point can have up to eight separate SSIDs, enabling small and medium-sized businesses to update a Wi-Fi network to the next-generation of wireless connectivity without the eye-watering cost of a full-on enterprise system.

    Free Cloud Management

Powered by Qualcomm’s Networking Pro 1220 Wi-Fi 7 platform, the ECW520 provides robust tri-band 2 x 2 x 2 performance and has combined throughput capabilities up to 10.8 Gbps. The ECW520 also has some essential business features, such as license-free EnGenius Cloud management, so that all networking equipment can be seen and controlled by a company’s IT department.

The new ECW520 is a Wi-Fi 7 access point for business with advanced capabilities and a price that won’t frighten the CFO.

    ENGENIUS

EnGenius has pioneered mobile-first provisioning so that networking equipment like routers, switches, gateways and access points can be set up using a smartphone and the EnGenius Cloud To-Go app. The ECW520 access point also features advanced security protocols in the form of WPA3 Enterprise encryption, plus it is backed up by a 5-year warranty.

Because the access point supports Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, the ECW520 includes the latest wireless networking innovations like 320MHz and 240MHz channel widths, 4096-QAM and Multi-Link Operation that boosts the throughput of traffic while reducing latency and making more efficient use of the wireless spectrum.

    Efficient Spectrum Use

The EXW520 also offers Multi-RU puncturing, which can optimize the use of available wireless channels, which is especially helpful in congested wireless environments where there are lots of devices fighting for limited spectrum. The access point also includes a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet interface with PoE+ support so it can be powered over a Cat 6 cable, even in parts of a building where there isn’t a power outlet. The 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet also provides a fast backhaul to the router and won’t create a pinch point in the network.

At the back of the EnGenius ECW510 is a PoE port which can carry power and data. There is also a 12V 2A DC input.

    ENGENIUS

The new EnGenius access point consumes around 25W when in use and it’s compatibility ensures it can slot in to existing networking infrastructure. It’s also backward compatible with older Wi-Fi standards, making it easier to transition a wireless network over from old to new standards.

Thanks to a combination of the latest technical features and an affordable price, the ECW520 is suitable for networking in high-density wireless environments such as big households, schools and colleges, restaurants or professional office settings.

    Cloud-Based Management

The EnGenius Cloud platform can be used to set up and control the ECW520. This cloud-based platform enables IT teams to monitor, configure and troubleshoot networks remotely and on a large scale, all without having to pay annual licensing fees. With zero-touch provisioning and an easy-to-use interface, the EnGenius Cloud Platform can reduce deployment time and operational complexity.

“With the ECW520, EnGenius is lowering the barrier to entry for Wi-Fi 7,” claims Roger Liu, executive vice president at EnGenius Technologies. “This solution is the culmination of our commitment to providing high-performance, secure, and scalable wireless infrastructure that aligns with the financial realities of modern SMBs and their technology partners.”

The ECW520 Wi-Fi 7 access point from EnGenius can be ceiling mounted and even comes with a quick-snap mounting bracket.
