Escape From Tarkov is finally set to come to Steam in the coming weeks, with a new tease from developers Battlestate Games giving us a first look at the Tarkov Steam page.

As we head towards the full launch of Escape From Tarkov, the development team is starting to tease new features and additions that will arrive with the 1.0 release later this year. One of those big changes is the long anticipated launch of Tarkov on Steam, which has been promised for many years but is only now arriving.

While there is no total confirmation of this, it looks like Escape From Tarkov will launch on Steam on November 11, when the full 1.0 launch of Tarkov takes place. A new tease from development lead Nikita Buyanov confirmed that the Steam page will be available soon, and gave fans a small look at what the page will look like.

The Steam page for Tarkov is not yet available, but from the tease posted by Nikita we can see that Battlestate Games will be self-publishing on Steam, as expected, and that it is being listed as an action game. There are some screenshots and a trailer for the 0.16 shown on the Steam page graphic, but chances are these will be updated when full release graphics are available.

Of course, this post has led to a lot of speculation from fans on who will need to purchase the game via Steam. For years, Tarkov has been available through the Battlestate Games launcher, which also includes a lot of extra fees to buy the game. The move to Steam could make it cheaper to purchase Tarkov, but many who already own the game are worried they may have to purchase it again should, they wish to play it through Steam.

Nikita has promised that more information will be coming soon, which will hopefully include details on how current players will be able to access Tarkov through Steam.

This weekend has also seen the Tarkov team head to PAX, where fans in attendance have been able to play the final Tarkov map, Terminal, and an updated build that includes some of the launch features. Drips of information have been leaking out of the event, but with no confirmed announcements from Battlestate Games, it has been difficult to get a hand on what is being shown.

While there are a lot of questions still to be answered, there is no doubt that a Steam release for Escape From Tarkov is going to be a good thing. It will bring the game to a lot of new players, and should hopefully make it easier to access for veterans, providing current players also get Steam access for free.
