August is the calm before the storm. In September, Apple will announce the new iPhone 17 lineup and new Apple Watches and maybe some other stuff, too. But in August, we’re just primarily going to get a steady march of OS beta updates leading up to that launch, and the macOS 26, iOS 26, tvOS 26, everything-else 26 updates that come along in September.

Of course there will be the usual bevy of Apple Arcade releases at the start of the month and Apple TV+ releases throughout the month, too. We don’t expect any new hardware announcements.

    Apps and software updates

The first public betas of iOS 26, macOS 26, iPadOS 26, watchOS 26, and tvOS 26 were all released on July 24.

Throughout August, we can expect two or three more beta updates as Apple continues to polish the experience, squash bugs, and improve performance. The current betas have all the major features promised at WWDC, so there’s not

For iOS 18 and macOS 15, there will probably be a x.7 release in September that focuses on security updates, and there may be a beta release of that in August. But as far as new features or anything else exciting, you’ll have to upgrade to iOS 26.

    Services

    Apple TV+

Here are the shows, series, and movies we expect to release on Apple TV+ in TK. If you want to know what’s coming later, check our full guide to upcoming Apple TV+ content.

Chief of War: Performed by a predominantly Polynesian cast led by Jason Momoa, Chief of War follows the epic and unprecedented telling of the unification and colonization of Hawai‘i at the turn of the 18th century. August 1

Stillwater (season 4): An animated kid’s show about three siblings who live next door to a wise old panda, who teaches them how to chill out. August 1

Platonic (season 2): Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne play best friends reunited after a long time apart, who wrestle with middle age life challenges in very different ways. August 6

Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical: A musical special with the Peanuts gang about the joy and magic of summer camp and the importance of preserving what you love. Charlie Brown loves camp and is determined to make his final year special, but Sally, a first-time camper, is nervous and skeptical of the new and unfamiliar place. August 15

Invasion (season 3): A well-reviewed sci-fi drama that follows an alien invasion through different perspectives around the world. August 22

    Apple Arcade

Apple releases most Apple Arcade games on the first Friday of each month. Check our Apple Arcade FAQ for a full list of Apple Arcade games and more details on the service. Occasionally, games are released with no forewarning, but you’ll usually see next month’s releases listed in the Coming Soon section.

Worms Across Worlds: The latest Worms game has a campaign where you travel across different biomes to chase down the evil Professor Worminkle. August 7

Play-Doh World: This Apple Arcade exclusive is aimed at kids, with lots of different activities to keep them busy. August 7

Everybody Shogi: A cute and accessible introduction to the traditional board game Shogi. August 7
