HMD, the official licensee of Nokia-branded phones for the past few years, has announced its decision to scale back its operations in the US.
HMD said its decision to scale back its US operations comes amidst the challenging geopolitical and economic environment in the United States. While HMD didn’t get into the details, this can be related to the ongoing tariff situation in the States.
Even though HMD has decided to scale back its US operations, the brand has assured it will continue to honour warranties in the States, and its US customers will receive support through the global teams.

Our priority is ensuring a seamless transition for our customers and partners. We will continue to honour all obligations, including warranty coverage and service for existing products, and provide full support through our global teams.
We deeply value the contributions of our US colleagues impacted by this change and are committed to supporting them during this transition.
HMD remains focused on long-term growth, with strong momentum across our mainstream business and key segments such as Family, Secure, and Microfinancing.”
