    Byte-Sized Brief

    • New Surface Laptop starts at $899.
    • New Surface Pro 2-in-1 starts at $799.
    • Both launch on May 20.

Microsoft is expanding its Copilot+ PC lineup with two new additions: the 13-inch Surface Laptop and the 12-inch Surface Pro, both launching May 20. Starting at $899 and $799, respectively, Microsoft says these devices are designed for portability, speed, and all-day battery.

Both machines run on the Snapdragon X Plus chip with a built-in neural processor that powers local AI features like Recall and Click to Do. The Surface Laptop offers up to 23 hours of video playback, while the new Surface Pro, the “thinnest and lightest Copilot+ PC,” doubles as a tablet with a magnetic pen and keyboard.
