    Byte-Sized Brief

    • Two Xbox handhelds launching late 2025.
    • Access Xbox, PC, and cloud games.
    • Built with ASUS, runs on Windows 11.

Microsoft and ASUS are teaming up to make Xbox gaming a lot more portable. They have announced two new handheld gaming devices—the ROG Xbox Ally and the more powerful ROG Xbox Ally X—both set to launch during the 2025 holiday season. These Windows portables are designed to let you access your Xbox PC game libraries from just about anywhere, whether they are downloaded, streamed from the cloud, or played remotely via a console at home.

You can see all your games in one place when you turn the device on. The Xbox Ally runs a simplified version of Windows 11 that’s been adjusted for handheld use, complete with Game Bar controls and access to Battle.net and “other leading PC storefronts.” Your games are ready to play whenever and wherever you are. Enter your email on Microsoft’s website to be among the first to know when the ROG Xbox Ally X and Xbox Ally are available for purchase.

    The Bottom Line

Microsoft and ASUS are launching two handheld gaming devices in late 2025 that let you play Xbox and PC games from anywhere.
