If you’re a Perplexity power user, there’s a new subscription tier available that offers some pretty incredible benefits — but it comes with an equally incredible price.

In a blog post last week, Perplexity announced its “most powerful subscription tier yet,” Perplexity Max. In addition to benefits like faster access to new models and the highest level of support, the plan also provides unlimited Labs queries.

All of those benefits set you back $200 a month; however, you can save $400 by paying $2,000 for a year of access up front.

While that price might seem like a lot, it’s right in line with other premium AI plans. ChatGPT unveiled its own $200-a-month Pro subscription earlier this year, as did Anthropic. Google’s highest plan for Gemini comes in at $250 a month, but you can get it for $125 a month for the first three months.

What you get with Perplexity Max

Perplexity Max is currently available only for users on a Free or Pro plan (which costs $20 a month). The company says an enterprise version is coming soon.

    Perplexity Max features include:

    • Unlimited access to its full suite of advanced AI models
    • Quicker access to the latest advanced AI models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and others
    • More powerful models for research and labs
    • Unlimited Labs queries (meaning you can create as many reports or projects as you need)
    • Early access to products like Comet
    • The highest level of support with dedicated infrastructure and faster response times

Perplexity explains that its highest subscription tier is for professionals who need unlimited access to comprehensive tools, content creators and writers who require extensive research capabilities, business strategists conducting competitive intelligence and market research, and academic researchers working on complex, multi-faceted projects.

Also: The AI complexity paradox: More productivity, more responsibilities

Perplexity Max is available in a web version and an iOS app.
