Roborock’s new AWD lawnmowers can cut on garden slopes of up to 39°, which is more than I can.

    Roborock

With the indoor robot cleaning market getting crowded, Roborock has debuted its new robot lawnmowers at IFA 2025.

With the RockMow Z1, RockMow S1, and the RockNeo Q1, the company is expanding outside of the home and into the garden for the first time. While not the first to do so, it says it is bringing innovations to the category, chief of which is all wheel drive (AWD) featuring independent motors in each wheel, which means your lawnmower may have something in common with the car on your driveway.

Roborock is boasting that its new models can cope with slopes of up to 39°, which is likely made possible by the AWD system.

The new models also feature an AI-powered avoidance strategy, which it says will balance obstacle avoidance with cutting coverage.

    Retractable lidar

Moving back into the safe confines of the home, Roborock also announced the Qrevo Curv 2 Pro, which, in addition to being ultra-slim at 7.98cm, also boasts a RetractSense Navigation System, which automatically retracts the lidar sensor that sits atop the unit so it can more easily fit under furniture, which seems smart.

In terms of cleaning performance, Roborock says the Qrevo Curv 2 Pro offers greatly upgraded cleaning performance, thanks to a “VaporFlow mode”, which produces a high-volume, 150°C steam from six outlets, to remove dried-on messes and stubborn stains without the need for harsh chemicals.

The company claims this delivers over a 99.99% bacteria removal rate and allergen reduction rate, all verified by the German technical inspection standards body TÜV SÜD.

As well as blasting away germs with powerful steam jets, the Qrevo Curv 2 Pro can temporarily lower its lidar navigation radar so it can fit under lower furniture.

    All-in-One Cleaning Combo

As a sneak peek at future innovation, at IFA, Roborock also showcased a “4-in-1 Homewide Cleaning Combo”: essentially a washing machine/dryer with a robot vacuum/mop and its dock, all integrated into one unit. As well as being a smart space-saving option, this makes sense as the robot vacuum mop can be plumbed into the house water system, which will be where the washing machine is already located.

Finally, Roborock also says that owners of its Saros Z70, revealed at CES 2025 as the first robot to feature a robotic arm that can emerge from the body of the cleaner and pick up objects, can now take pictures and define and label up to 50 objects in addition to the 108 objects the robot is already familiar with.

The caveat is that the robot’s “Omnigrip” arm will not be able to interact with these customer-added objects right now, but we can assume they will be too at some point, or this labelling will be for naught.

As it unveiled its new robots Roborock says that the brand was named by IDC in 2025 H1 as the #1 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner brand in terms of sales units and values Denmark, Finland, Germany, the Republic of Korea, Norway, Sweden, and Turkey while of Korea, Norway, Sweden, and Turkey. In terms of financial performance, in August 2025, the brand’s mid-year financial report indicated revenue increased by 78.96% YoY to reach 7.9 billion RMB.
