ZDNET’s key takeaways
- The next Samsung Unpacked event is slated for September 4.
- A new Galaxy tablet series is expected to launch, with preorder deals already live.
- A budget-centric Galaxy S25 FE phone may be released in tandem with the tablets.
There are still a few days left in August, but the storm that is Techtember is well within sight. Add to the list of upcoming products Samsung’s Galaxy tablets, which will take center stage during the company’s next Unpacked event on September 4.
The company this week announced that Unpacked will happen just days before IFA Berlin 2025, where it plans to unveil new Galaxy Tab devices — likely the Tab S11 series, which succeeds the now year-old Tab S10 models.

If the timing holds, we could also see a new Galaxy FE phone, which last year launched shortly after the iPhone 16 in September. Notably, Samsung released an FE edition of its Galaxy Buds — $150 earbuds with flagship audio features that trickled down from the more premium models — earlier this month.
Rounding out the ecosystem with a new phone and tablet this fall would be a sensible move.

Ahead of the event, Samsung is opening up preorder reservations for the new Galaxy tablets, which nets you a $50 discount as long as you express interest in buying them. Think of the offer as a free discount with no commitments required.

If you are serious about buying any of the new tablets, reserving your preorder also gets you some unique promotions, ranging from up to $800 in instant trade-in credit, up to $150 toward a storage upgrade (likely enough to get you double the memory), and up to 30% select accessories.
There’s one other tidbit from the reservation page that’s worth noting: the fine print suggests that the preorder deals will happen from September 4 (the day of Unpacked) to October 5. That means the official sale date (read: when they arrive in stores) for the upcoming devices — whether they’re tablets, phones, or both — will likely be in early October.
