Wellness tech is the way of the future, and Apple is an excellent choice for a smartwatch investment. Not only does Apple offer some top features like monitoring health, tracking sleep, and recording workouts, but these watches are a hot buy thanks to their seamless integration with the Apple ecosystem. Users can reply to texts, take calls, and use Apple Pay, all from a wrist.

Also: Apple’s iPhone 17 event is less than a week away. Here’s how to watch (and what to expect)

If you’re eyeing a watch, we’ve rounded up our favorite Apple Watch deals on all the latest models — including discounts, trade-ins, and mobile carrier offers, just days ahead of Apple’s upcoming hardware event on Sept. 9, where it’s rumored that the new Watch Series 11, Ultra 3, and more could be unveiled. If you’re interested in the latest and greatest Apple Watch tech, save your cash until later in the fall — that’s when we may start seeing discounts on any of the new models that may be launched next week.

Here are our favorite deals on the Apple Watch Series 10,  Watch Ultra 2, and Watch SE live now (plus a few of our favorite accessory deals).

    Apple Watch Series 10 deals

New Series 10 watches are on sale at several retailers, though Walmart has the best stock. They are not on sale at Best Buy at the time of publication.

Why you’d want to buy one: The Watch Series 10 is still the latest wearable in Apple’s midrange lineup. It feaures a thin design, 18 hour battery life, and a larger display than the Series 9, but it isn’t as capable as the Ultra 2. It’s ZDNET’s pick for best Apple watch.

    • Current price: $329
    • Original price: $399

Walmart is selling several models of the Sport Band and Sport Loop iterations for $70 off.

    • Current price: $359
    • Original price: $429

The larger 46mm Watch Series 10 has better stock at Amazon than the 42mm model, and it’s also $70 off.

    • Current price: $359
    • Original price: $429

Walmart also has the larger 46mm watch on sale for $70 off.

    Apple Watch Ultra 2 deals

A new Ultra 2 is not currently on sale at most retailers.

Why you’d want to buy one: The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is still the most premium in Apple’s lineup. It features a rugged design, a faster S9 processor, a brighter display, and twice the internal storage than the Ultra.

    • Current price: $693
    • Original price: $799

Amazon has select used and refurbished models on sale for a slight discount, like the Ultra 2 Rugged Titanium Case with the Blue Ocean Band.

    • Current price: $550
    • Original price: $799

Back Market has plenty of Ultra 2 refurbished models on sale, like this one for over $200 off.

    Apple Watch Series 9 deals

New Series 9 watches are very hard to come by, but there are refurbished and used models available.

Why you’d want to buy one: The Watch Series 9 is a great way to get still-premium features for a lower cost thanks to refurbished models. It’s more advanced than the base SE model, but not as current as the Watch Series 10. It still offers great battery life, accurate health sensors, and double tap gestures, but doesn’t offer blood oxygen tracking.

    • Current price: $202
    • Original price: $399

The Watch Series 9 is a few years old now, but you can pick up refurbished or used models for around $200.

    • Current price: $329
    • Original price: $399

Walmart still has new Series 9 watches in select colors, but it’s not much of a deal when you can grab the newer Series 10 for the same price.

    Apple Watch SE deals

New Watch SE (2nd Gen) models are available on sale at several retailers. The Watch SE is not on sale at Best Buy at the time of publication.

Why you’d want to get one: The Watch SE (2nd Gen) is the base model Apple Watch. It’s very affordable, yet still practical. It won’t offer advanced features like sleep tracking, but it does grant fall detection, crash detection, and more, and is a great smartwatch for fitness tracking for children, elderly, or first-time smartwatch owners. I have one and still love it.

    • Current price: $189
    • Original price: $250

The base model Watch SE is on sale at Amazon for up to $80 off on select Sport Loop models and $60 off on the popular Sport Band iterations.

    • Current price: $189
    • Original price: $250

Walmart also has select models of the Watch SE on sale.

    • Current price: $169
    • Original price: $250

Amazon and Walmart are both selling the Lake Green Sport Loop Watch SE for $80 off.

    Apple Watch accessory deals

    • Current price: $39
    • Original price: $55

Select colors and sizes of Nomad’s sport slim band are on sale for 29% off during the brand’s overstock sale, and it’s my personal favorite watch band.

    • Current price: $69
    • Original price: $100

This pint-sized Qi2 charger is great for taking on the go, and has a dedicated Apple Watch charger built in.

This charger isn’t on sale, but it’s a great option to have in your repertoire thanks to a built-in Apple Watch fast charger and USB-C compatibility.

What are the newest Apple Watch models?

The Apple Watch Series 10, Watch Ultra 2, and Watch SE (2nd Gen) are still the latest models at the time of publication. The Watch Series 10 and Watch Ultra 2 were released on Sept. 20, 2024, and the Watch SE (2nd Gen) was released on Sept. 16, 2022.

Also: I deciphered Apple’s iPhone 17 event invite, and it led me down a rabbit hole of theories

A new Watch Series 11, Ultra 3, and potentially a new Watch SE are rumored to be unveiled during Apple’s 2025 iPhone event.

When will new Apple Watches be released?

If Apple sticks to tradition, new watches could be unveiled next week. The brand’s iPhone 17 event begins at 10 a.m. PT at Apple Park in Cupertino, California.

Select members of the press will be in attendance, but the public can join via livestream. The livestream is typically hosted on Apple’s main website and YouTube. Plus, ZDNET will be covering the event from the ground, so follow along with our coverage next week.
