    Ooooooh, both the blue and purple categories in today’s NYT Connections puzzle could be tough. Read on for clues and today’s Connections answers.

    The Times now has a Connections Bot, like the one for Wordle. Go there after you play to receive a numeric score and to have the program analyze your answers. Players who are registered with the Times Games section can now nerd out by following their progress, including the number of puzzles completed, win rate, number of times they nabbed a perfect score and their win streak.

    Hints for today’s Connections groups

    Here are four hints for the groupings in today’s Connections puzzle, ranked from the easiest yellow group to the tough (and sometimes bizarre) purple group.

    Yellow group hint: Seattle knows this well.

    Green group hint:  Bullseye!

    Blue group hint: Certain kind of self-contained unit.

    Purple group hint: Anatomy, plus an add-on to the word.

    Answers for today’s Connections groups

    Yellow group: Qualities of a rainy day.

    Green group: Squarely.

    Blue group: Contents of a pod.

    Purple group: Body part plus a starting letter.

    The theme is qualities of a rainy day. The four answers are cold, gray, wet and windy.

    The green words in today’s Connections

    The theme is squarely. The four answers are dead, exactly, right and smack.

    The blue words in today’s Connections

    The theme is contents of a pod. The four answers are astronaut, coffee, pea and whale.

    The purple words in today’s Connections

    The theme is body part plus a starting letter. The four answers are barm, lear, rankle and ship.

    Barm=arm

    Lear=ear

    Rankle=ankle

    Ship=hip
