Ring is holding a huge summer sale, with up to 40% off doorbells and home security cameras – including some of the best video doorbells you can buy today.
I’m TechRadar’s home tech expert, and for me the best deal in the sale is the Ring Battery Video Doorbell Plus, which is now £89.99 (was £129.99) at Ring.
This premium video doorbell achieved a near-perfect four and a half stars in our review thanks to its head-to-toe view, which makes it easier to see both people and packages, and excellent battery life. Take a look at our full Ring Battery Video Doorbell Plus review for more details.
There’s also a great deal on the Ring Indoor Pan-Tilt Camera, which is down to £49.99 (was £69.99). This flexible little cam currently holds the top spot in my guide to the best home security cameras due to its exceptional field of view and already modest price tag – and with this price cut, it’s even easier to recommend. For more info, take a look at our Ring Indoor Pan-Tilt Camera review.
I’ve picked out a few more of the best deals for you below. Alternatively, you can browse the full sale yourself to see what else is available.
Ring devices are among the best around, but before you buy one, it’s worth considering the cost of a subscription to Ring Home. Subscribing isn’t mandatory, and you’ll still be able to use the basic functions of your camera or doorbell without one (such as watching a live video feed on your phone and chatting to visitors). but your videos won’t be stored anywhere, and you’ll be missing features such as person and package recognition.
Ring Home has three subscription tiers, so you can choose one that best suits your needs. The most affordable, Ring Home Basic, costs £4.99 a month or £49.99 a year, and would be the best package to choose if you only have one device and your needs are fairly basic.
Ring Home Standard costs £8 per month or £80 per year, and covers multiple doorbells and/or cameras. It also gives you Extended Live View, which means you can watch footage from your camera on your phone for up to 30 minutes at a time, and you can receive doorbell interactions as phone calls.
At the top end, Ring Home Premium costs £15.99 a month or £159.99 per year. It gives you features like 24/7 recording for supported wired cameras, and Continuous Live View, which lets you watch footage on your phone for as long as you like.
