If you’re looking for the perfect read to wrap up your summer, “Stuff Your E-Reader Day” is a great place to start.

Indie Author Central created Stuff Your E-Reader Day. It runs from Aug.12-16 and features hundreds of e-books made free by authors for a limited time. This event’s theme, “Stepping Through Time,” focuses on historic and contemporary fiction.

Also: The base model Kindle is the e-reader most people should buy. Here’s why

In addition to free books, Stuff Your E-Reader Day includes e-books priced at only $0.99 and titles newly added to Kindle Unlimited and Kobo Plus.

The featured e-books are available for Kindle and Kobo, but they can also be read on your Nook or through reading apps on your smartphone or tablet.

A searchable catalog of the Stepping Through Time recommendations is available on the Indie Authors Central website, complete with links for each book that take you to Amazon or Kobo.

Also: I tested the latest Kindle Paperwhite and it has the one feature I’ve been waiting for

Unlike Kindle Unlimited, which lets you borrow e-books through a monthly subscription, the free and $0.99 e-books from Stuff Your E-Reader Day are yours to keep forever, and there’s no limit to how many you can download.

A Kindle Unlimited subscription costs $12 monthly, while a Kobo Plus membership is $8 a month.

What is Stuff Your e-Reader Day?

Stuff Your e-Reader Day (also called Stuff Your Kindle Day on Amazon) is a popular digital event in which authors and publishers either offer free e-books or drop their price to $0.99. The reader and publishing communities run this type of periodical event, and it tends to have a theme. It’s a great way to find new books and authors and stock up on multiple books without breaking the bank.
