Good news: You don’t have to put up with an old phone just because you don’t want to pay up-front for a new device, or deal with a monthly fee. Right now, T-Mobile is offering a free iPhone 16 Pro when you switch to its Experience Beyond Plan.

Also: The best Prime Day phone deals we’ve found so far

For the first time, this offer doesn’t require extra purchases or trade-ins; anyone can take advantage of it. If you’ve been looking to upgrade, this is a great opportunity. Plus, they are giving up to $800 to pay off your existing line.

Right now, Experience Beyond plans start at $170 a month for three lines. The service is comparable to AT&T and Verizon. The plan includes a streaming bundle with free access to Apple TV, Hulu, and Netflix, plus MLS Season Pass and MLB TV.

Starlink, the satellite internet service created by SpaceX, is free in the plan. With over 560 T-satellites and counting, you can connect with the rest of the world even in the most rural part of the US.

Also: We tested the iPhone 16 Pro camera system, and it’s highly underrated – with one tragic flaw

The iPhone 16 Pro is also chock-full of upgrades, like better cameras, software for Apple Intelligence, an action button, and way more. The 16s are the latest installment in the iPhone family. Now is a great time to get your hands on one before Apple announces a new lineup in the fall.

The plan also has a 5-year price guarantee, so you’ll see no surprises on your bill. Plus, a free phone to make your pockets hurt a lot less.

    How I rated this deal

The iPhone 16 Pro costs $1,000, and with this deal, you’re getting it free with the caveat of paying at least $170 a month for a new plan. Because of this ‘trade-off,’ we gave this offer a 4/5 Editor’s deal rating. You’re getting a free phone and saving yourself money, but you might be paying more for this plan than your original carrier. For the right person, this is a great deal.

Deals are subject to sell out or expire anytime, though ZDNET remains committed to finding, sharing, and updating the best product deals for you to score the best savings. Carrier deals are never staunch. However, this is the first time T-Mobile is offering a deal like this without a trade-in. Our team of experts regularly checks in on the deals we share to ensure they are still live and obtainable. We’re sorry if you’ve missed out on this deal, but don’t fret — we’re constantly finding new chances to save and sharing them with you at ZDNET.com.

With this offer, you simply have to switch or upgrade to their Experience Beyond plan, and you’ll receive an iPhone 16 Pro for free. However, you’ll still have to pay the tax and a $35 connection charge. You can even keep your old phone and number.

You can read the rest of the terms and conditions on T-Mobile’s website.
