    Samsung/ZDNET

Whether a console or PC gamer, your display can make or break your gaming experience. The Samsung Odyssey Ark is a 55-inch, curved gaming monitor designed to be the ultimate display for gamers and content creators alike. And right now, you can save $1,200 when you buy directly from Samsung- a sizable 40% off. Plus, for a limited time, you can add a 32-inch M50D smart monitor for free and 2 years of Samsung Care+ for just $1.

Also: The best cheap gaming PCs you can buy

The 55-inch screen uses a mini-LED panel to create brilliant colors and bold contrast. It features a 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time for near-instant reactions to your inputs and smoother motion during action scenes.

It even supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro VRR technology to help prevent screen tearing and stuttering, which can ruin your gaming session. It also produces 4K resolution, so you can keep up with graphically demanding games on both PC and console.

For audio, the Samsung Odyssey Ark uses four speakers, two subwoofers, and Dolby Atmos to create room-filling virtual surround sound for a more immersive experience, which is excellent news for anyone who doesn’t like to game with a headset on.

With Samsung’s Gaming Hub, you can access cloud gaming apps like Nvidia GeForce Now so you can remote play your favorite PC games. The included Ark Dial lets you fine-tune settings for the best picture quality, and by rotating the screen to portrait mode, it’s an almost perfect display for flight sims.

The Samsung M50D is a smart monitor that features native support for streaming apps like Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video for an all-in-one display suited for both productivity and entertainment. Samsung is offering the 32-inch model, which also hsupportsSamsung’s Gaming Hub for seamless switching between displays and better multitasking for content creators and streamers. It even supports remote PC access, allowing you to access a secondary desktop or laptop right from your monitor. This makes it an almost perfect option for creators and streamers using a two-PC setup for livestreams and recording.

How to qualify and snag extra savings

Samsung’s website will automatically apply the $1,200 discount to the Odyssey Ark when you add it to your cart, but you’ll have to make sure that the M50D is selected as well if you want to snag it for free. It can be a little confusing, as the only indication it has been chosen is a thin blue outline that’s easy to miss if you aren’t looking carefully. And if $1,800 is too pricey, several financing options are available. And if you already picked up the Odyssey Ark during a previous sale, you can grab the M50D on its own for $220 (that’s $80 off).

    Samsung/ZDNET

If you’re interested in adding a subscription to Samsung Care+, the brand’s extended warranty and product protection program, you can get two years for just $1. I highly suggest adding it to your cart because $1 is a criminally low price to pay for peace of mind when it comes to your brand new, very expensive gaming monitor (and it’s well-worth the original $90 to cover shipping damage, dud units, and accidental damage).

    Samsung/ZDNET

Samsung also has open-box options available for an extra $100 off and a $50 Samsung credit you can add to automatically be applied to your cart at checkout. Samsung also has special discount programs for active duty military, first responders, educators, government employees, qualified corporate employees, and students for another 10% off your total purchase (check the Samsung Offer Program website to sign up and check eligibility requirements).

    How I rated this deal

While this isn’t the lowest price or steepest discount we’ve ever seen on the Samsung Odyssey Ark, I still gave it a 5-star rating because it’s a sizeable markdown on a high-end gaming monitor from a reputable brand. This big-screen monitor is already well worth the full asking price with its 4K resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, and the ability to control multiple computers with a single mouse and keyboard. But this 40% markdown and free smart monitor bundle offer is an even better value for PC and console gamers looking to invest in a quality display for their setup or a quick multi-monitor solution.

Samsung is offering a free 32-inch M50D smart monitor with the purchase of an Odyssey Ark 2nd Gen until August 10 or while supplies last.

Deals are subject to sell out or expire at any time, though ZDNET remains committed to finding, sharing, and updating the best product deals for you to score the best savings. Our team of experts regularly checks in on the deals we share to ensure they are still live and obtainable. We’re sorry if you’ve missed out on a deal, but don’t fret — we’re constantly finding new chances to save and sharing them with you at ZDNET.com.

The BOGO deal that includes the M50D smart monitor will officially end on August 10, 2025; though it may end earlier if supplies sell out. And in my experience from keeping tabs on the Samsung site to update deals and best lists, you’ll want to act quickly because stock sells out very quickly.

To get your free monitor, add it to your cart when you purchase the Odyssey Ark, and the Samsung website will automatically apply the discount. You can also add 2 years of Samsung Care+ product protection for just $1 on the product page or right in your shopping cart before you check out.

Open-box discounts offer up to an extra $100 off, but are subject to available stock and the discretion of Samsung. To qualify for the $50 Samsung Upgrade Credit, select it on the product page before heading to check out to have the website apply the discount to your cart. The Samsung Offer Program allows qualifying customers to save 10% on purchases. This includes: students, government employees, certain corporate employees, active duty military, first responders, and educators. See the Samsung Offer Program website for eligibility requirements.
