Wednesday Season 2, Part 2 — from director Tim Burton and starring Jenna Ortega — is finally here, a month after the debut of Part 1. What can Netflix viewers expect in Episodes 5-8?

Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, Wednesday Season 1 premiered in November 2022 and went on to become the most-streamed TV series globally in Netflix history. As of this publication, the series, Wednesday Season 1 has accumulated 252.1 million views, which equates to 1.718 billion hours viewed.

Wednesday Season 2, meanwhile, has been dominating Netflix’s weekly top 10 global TV shows chart since its debut on Aug. 6, debuting at No. 1 with 50 million views from the viewing period of Aug. 4-10.

It finished at No. 1 again in weeks 2 (Aug. 11-17) and 3 (Aug. 18-24) with 29.1 million views and 13.4 million views, respectively. Wednesday is No. 3 on this week’s Top 10 Global TV Shows chart (Aug. 25-Aug. 31) with 4 million views.

Wednesday Season 2, Part 2 officially began streaming at 3 a.m. PT/12 a.m. ET. The names of the episodes for Wednesday Season 2, Part 2 are:

Episode 5 – Hyde and Woe Seek

    Episode 6 – Woe Thyself

Episode 7 – Woe Me the Money

For viewers who don’t subscribe to Netflix, the platform offers an ad-based package for $7.99 per month for viewing on two supported devices, an ad-free package for $17.99 per month for two supported devices and an ad-free package for $24.99 per month for four supported devices with 4K Ultra HD programming.

What’s New In ‘Wednesday’ Season 2, Part 2?

Wednesday Season 2, Part 1 opened some big creative avenues for the series. To begin with, viewers are getting more of the Addams Family apart from Wednesday in the series, as the storyline has expanded for Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), Gomez (Luis Guzman) and Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez).

Instead of dropping off Wednesday at Nevermore Academy for her sophomore year, Morticia and Gomez have been invited to stay on campus by the school’s new principal, Barry Dort (Steve Buscemi). Pugsley, meanwhile, is now a freshman at Nevermore and has accidentally reanimated a corpse, whom he names Slurp (Owen Painter).

In addition, Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen) has a greater presence in Season 2, while Morticia’s mother, Grandmama Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley), shows up at Nevermore as a rift between her daughter and granddaughter develops.

Also, fans of Tim Burton’s stop-motion animated films got to experience a Wednesday first, as Episode 1 of Season 2 included a stop-motion sequence from the director’s animation collaborators at Mackinnon and Saunders called The Tale of Skull Tree.

A flashback sequence told in black and white, the 1-minute, 30-second sequence harkens back to Burton’s stop-motion short film classic Vincent, as well as his 2012 Oscar-nominated stop-motion feature Frankenweenie.

Wednesday Season 2, Part 2, meanwhile, reintroduces the late Nevermore Principal Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christine), who now has taken up residence in Wednesday’s consciousness after she was gravely injured at the end of Part 1.

In addition, Lady Gaga makes her hotly anticipated debut in Wednesday Season 2, Part 2 as former Nevermore Academy teacher Rosaline Rotwood. Lady Gaga also debuted a song during Season 2, Part 2, appropriately titled “The Dead Dance.”

Wednesday has already been renewed by Netflix for a third season, but the streaming platform has not yet announced when the show will return.

In the meantime, viewers can stream all 16 episodes of Wednesday Season 1 and Season 2 on Netflix.
