    Byte-Sized Brief

    • Conflict resolution skills build trust that AI can’t.
    • Adaptability beats experience in some roles.
    • Leadership still requires a human touch.

Even as AI tools get smarter and more capable, TRG Datacenters CEO Chris Hinkle says there are still some very human skills that machines just can’t replicate (yet). In a recent breakdown of the four qualities he believes employers will look for in the future, Hinkle emphasized conflict resolution, adaptability, leadership, and systems thinking, not technical know-how or flashy resumes.

People who can quickly learn new tools, lead others through uncertainty, and see the broader impact of technical decisions are becoming even more valuable as companies navigate complex and hasty challenges. Hinkle says some of their new hires, who have no background in their systems, were outperforming seasoned staff within weeks simply by learning fast and being open to adapting. So, while AI might help you do your job better and has already replaced some roles, focusing on these abilities should put you on top. For now.

    The Bottom Line

AI is changing the workplace, but it’s not ready to lead a team, resolve tension, adapt quickly, or see how decisions ripple across departments. Those are the skills that will keep humans essential.
