    Amazon/ZDNET

I’m old enough to remember a time before the widespread availability of power tools. Back then, you had to drill, screw, saw, and run fasteners all by hand. Those days are gone, and we’re now in a time when you can pick up cordless power tools at prices that will make you look twice!

Milwaukee has a great deal on its M18 nine-tool combo kit for Labor Day at Amazon. Yes, nine power tools.

    In this massive kit, you get a 1/2-inch drill/driver, a 1/4-inch hex impact driver, a Hackzall reciprocating saw, a multi-tool, brushless 1/2-inch high-torque impact wrench, a 6 1/2-inch circular saw, a 4 1/2-inch grinder, a compact blower, and a work light.

That’s everything you need to tackle jobs you’re going to find around the home, from putting up shelves to putting up a fence.

    But there’s more!

You also get a M18 XC 3.0Ah battery, a smaller, more compact M18 CP 1.5Ah battery, an M18/M12 multi volt charger, and a tough contractor bag to put it all in.

You get all this in the kit.

This is a monster package of tools, and perfect for those starting out wanting to go from zero to 100 with their tool collection, or the seasoned DIYer looking to refresh their toolkit.

Either way, this is the best time to buy this kit. Amazon has this kit listed at the reduced price of $899, which is 18% down on the list price of $1,099. If you’re a heavy tool user, you might want to invest in another battery or two, so the work doesn’t have to stop prematurely!

Just be aware that this is going to be a monster pile of tools, and you’re going to need a fair bit of space to store them. If that’s an issue, you might be better off looking at the smaller 7-tool set, or there’s an even smaller 2-tool bundle that is powered by Milwaukee’s smaller M12 batteries.

    How I rated this deal

Milwaukee is one of the four big names in the prosumer power tool arena (the others being DeWalt, Makita, and Bosch), and so finding such a discount on such a huge pile of tools is quite something. This is one of the best deals I’ve come across, so it gets my vote.

    When will this deal expire?
