At this moment, it may be the best time to buy an M4 MacBook Air outside of a major holiday or sales event. That’s because every single configuration is on sale for $200 off at Amazon.

The cheapest is the 16GB, 256GB model, which is on sale for $799. If you want more storage, the 512GB M4 MacBook Air retails for $999. Then there’s the 24GB, 512GB laptop, which costs $1,199. Colors don’t affect the prices in any way.

Everything from Midnight (black) to Starlight (white) has been discounted. Keep in mind that these deals don’t take Apple Care+ into account. Opting for Apple’s insurance adds an extra $149 to the final cost.

What makes the M4 MacBook Air so highly recommended is that it performs at a similar level to the M4 MacBook Pro. ZDNET Editor Kyle Kucharski reviewed the laptop earlier this year where he conducted several benchmark tests.

In his coverage, you’ll notice that the M4 MacBook Air has similar processing and rendering capabilities as the Pro model. This shows the lightweight computer can tackle all kinds of workloads, from basic internet browsing to video editing, with relative ease. It even outperforms the M3 MacBook Pro in certain tests.

Apple’s M4 MacBook Air excels in other areas, too. The webcam received a nice upgrade, as it now sports a 12MP camera supported by Center Stage. This AI-powered feature ensures you stay perfectly framed during video calls. Other notable features include a vibrant 4K Liquid Retina display, over 14 hours of battery life (although with the right tweaks, you may be able to reach the purported 18-hour runtime), and a sleek design.

    How I rated this deal

As per ZDNET’s rating system, I give this deal a 3/5. Apple devices rarely go on sale, especially outside of Amazon Prime Day or Black Friday. Hop on this deal while it lasts because it’ll only be around for a limited time.
