    Byte-Sized Brief

    • Canva will acquire MagicBrief, an AI-powered ad platform.
    • MagicBrief’s creative intelligence tools will come to Canva.
    • Expect more AI-powered design and marketing features.

Canva announced that it plans to buy MagicBrief, an Australian creative intelligence ad platform trusted by marketers, ad agencies, and brands throughout the world. The company’s software helps brands perform competitive research, analyze the most successful parts of campaigns, and put all the performance and creative data together to build new strategies.

MagicBrief’s Co-founder and CEO, George Howes, will join Canva in a leadership position, and the primarily Sydney-based team will also join the fold full time. Canva hasn’t announced an official acquisition date or timeline. In the meantime Canva says that both companies will run independently, with MagicBrief building out its customer base.

    The Bottom Line

Canva will acquire MagicBrief and bring its AI-driven performance marketing prowess to the Canva toolbox. Brands and marketers will soon be able to better understand the content that delivers and create most effectively—using one platform.
