We’re in the wee hours of Amazon’s October Prime Day, but there are still a ton of deals to be had on quality tech. And for anyone considering dipping a toe into ANC (active noise cancellation) headphones, now is the perfect time to take the plunge. The JLab JBuds Lux ANC wireless headphones are now 50% off, bringing their price to just $40.

Also: I’m an audiophile, but I can’t argue with how good these $50 JLab earbuds sound

JLab has earned its reputation of being a solid yet inexpensive brand for headphones and earbuds, and its foray into ANC is exciting for anyone who’s looking to introduce or incorporate noise-cancellation into their home, workplace, or travel routine without breaking the bank. Earlier this year ZDNET editor Jada Jones tried JLab’s Epic Lab Lux Edition headphones and declared them “her new favorite headphones,” despite being less than half the price of their competitors. The JLab JBuds Lux ANC headphones are now $40 as part of a lightning deal, though they won’t stay this discounted for long.

Also: How do noise-canceling headphones work?

The JBuds Lux headphones are equipped with 40mm drivers and 70 hours of playtime with a single charge (or about 40 hours using ANC). In addition to traditional noise cancellation, these headphones also offer spatial audio, hybrid ANC, which adjusts to your environment to best filter unwanted noise up to 35dB, and “be aware” mode, which allows you to keep your focus but still be tuned in to your surroundings.

The headphones have a bunch of settings that are easy to navigate and customize with the JLab App, including ANC, touch controls, and Bass Boost. It also has an option particularly geared towards hearing safety with volume limits. One aspect I love about these headphones is that the microphones are also noise-canceling, ensuring that your calls are as distraction-free as possible. The Wireless Share Mode lets you share audio between two Lux headphones, and though the earcups fold in, the headphones are easy to find with Google Find My Device. While the JLab JBuds Lux ANC wireless headphones are only 50% off in Mauve, none of the four color options are currently over $52.

    How I rated this deal

While these headphones might not offer the most immersive audio experience, they’re a solid piece of tech for a pretty unbeatable price. Quality noise-canceling headphones that offer 70 hours of playtime are a rare find, especially for under $50.

This promotion is part of a lightning deal and is also available during the final hours of October Amazon Prime Day, so it definitely won’t last long.
