Ming-Chi Kuo: the third generation of iPhone Slim will have a larger display

The iPhone e will be a yearly release, unlike the once-in-a-while SE launches. This means that Apple will be conducting two iPhone launches a year – and future vanilla models may be unveiled alongside the e-model rather than with the Pros.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared a timeline for how future iPhone launches will be scheduled and included some information about the future Slim models with that.

From left to right: iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Slim and iPhone 17

The iPhone 17 Slim will be taking the place of the iPhone Plus, though it will be smaller – we’ve heard that it will have a 6.55” display. The iPhone 18 Slim in 2026 will remain the same, but the iPhone 19 Slim in 2027 will have a larger display, according to Kuo.

How much larger? This far out, probably even Apple doesn’t know the exact number. Still, the Plus model may be reborn in spirit a couple of years from now – just in a thinner and lighter shell.

By 2027 the definition of “large iPhone” will have grown past the Plus and even Pro Max – the iPhone 19 Slim is supposed to launch alongside the second generation foldable iPhone. Now those should have properly large displays.
