WWE did a great job with Saturday Night’s Main Event. It felt like an episode of Raw or SmackDown on steroids, and it went much deeper than I expected.

    Here’s what happened.

    Table of contents
1 WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Results
1.1 Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker def. Sami Zayn and CM Punk – Bronson Reed Returns
1.2 (c) Zelina Vega def. Chelsea Green to Retain Women’s U.S. Championship
1.3 John Cena def. R-Truth aka Ron Cena
1.4 Damian Priest def. Drew McIntyre in Steel Cage Match
1.5 (c) Jey Uso def. Logan Paul to Retain World Heavyweight Championship, John Cena Intervenes and Cody Rhodes Returns

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Results

Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker def. Sami Zayn and CM Punk – Bronson Reed Returns

I had no interest in the winner of this match; I was waiting to see what the payoff would be, and it was worth the wait. We found out who Paul Heyman’s third man would be, and it was Bronson Reed.

In fact, it appears Rollins was the orchestrator of this union, which adds even more depth. Reed showed up and wrecked Punk with a Tsunami. Punk’s sells were stellar too. Overall, this was an excellent opener to the show.

    (c) Zelina Vega def. Chelsea Green to Retain Women’s U.S. Championship

I’m not gonna lie; I thought Vega was going to lose the title here. She didn’t. Vega retained her title with a Super Code Red for the clean victory.

Green is still awesome, and she worked through a busted nose at the end of the match. This was easily the weakest match of the night, but it is good to see Vega’s reign last a bit longer.

John Cena def. R-Truth aka Ron Cena

While short, this match was one of the highlights of the evening. Cena came out wearing his Farewell Tour garb, but in Tampa Bay Buccaneers colors. R-Truth followed him rocking a makeshift version of Cena’s classic T-shirt—only it was an image of him on it and it said “Ron” Cena.

Truth came out to Cena’s signature music, did his entrance, and during the match landed a 5-Knuckle Shuffle and an Attitude Adjustment.

Cena got the win when he kicked Truth below the belt and landed his own AA. It was a great segment.

Damian Priest def. Drew McIntyre in Steel Cage Match

If this is the end of the Priest-McIntyre feud, it was a violent conclusion. There were several hellacious spots, but the final blow was a concerto from Priest. He exited the cage while McIntyre sold the severity of the spot perfectly.

Jesse Ventura was doing color commentating on the match, and it was pretty brutal. He didn’t seem to know that the rules for a steel cage match are different today than they were in the 1980s.

There were several other disconnected portions of the audio, thanks to his input.

    (c) Jey Uso def. Logan Paul to Retain World Heavyweight Championship, John Cena Intervenes and Cody Rhodes Returns

To close out the night, Uso retained his title, but not before Cena showed up and tried to help Paul win the title.

When it looked like Cena had the tables turned in Paul’s favor, Cody Rhodes’ music hit and he came to the rescue. Rhodes then appeared to lock in a tag team match between him and Uso vs. Cena and Paul at Money in the Bank.

I like the idea of Cena attempting to ruin wrestling by letting a YouTuber win the world title. Despite Rhodes’ save on Saturday night, it feels like something that will happen at some point this year.
